SCOTTISH-born Cameron Bowie took the top honour at the record-breaking Multimodal 2025 Awards.
The ceremony, held at the NEC, Birmingham celebrated logistics excellence.
Cameron, of Hapag-Lloyd, was named Personality of the Year. He has enjoyed a 34-year career in shipping. Born and educated in Scotland, he joined his current employer in Asia in 1991, working across China, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan before moving to the US and then returning to the UK in 2000. He has served as MD of Hapag-Lloyd UK and Ireland from 2000-2019 and again from 2022 to present.
“It was a surprise and a huge honour – an award that not many of us have a chance to actually receive,” he remarked. “If you enjoy the relationships you develop with your team, it’s easy. I’m really flattered and deeply honoured.”
Elsewhere, DP World celebrated a double triumph, securing both the Port Company of the Year and Sustainability Company of the Year awards in recognition of the firm’s CO2 reductions and sustainability initiatives.
The Modal Awards categories, determined by votes from Multimodal attendees and exhibitors, also saw victories for Kuehne+Nagel (Air Freight); Maritime Transport (Road Freight); Freightliner (Rail Freight); MSC (Sea Freight); and Maersk (Third-Party Logistics).
Howard Tenens Logistics secured the Best Warehouse Operation of the Year award with what judges described as ‘a benchmark entry with full-spectrum excellence’. Their submission showcased innovations including 6RS robots and Kallikor AI technology, delivering a 46% uplift in despatch alongside a 33% renewable energy use and 31% reduction in GHG emissions.
The Technology Company of the Year award went to CCL Logistics & Technology for their approach to sustainability challenges, while the partnership between Sky and DHL Supply Chain was recognised as Shipper/Partner of the Year for their Connected Control Tower managing multimodal flows and delivering 4% freight spend savings.
Iron Mountain took the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Company of the Year prize for ‘exceptional DEI leadership’ with initiatives including the SEND college partnership. Meanwhile, Haya Huang from DCG Logistics UK Limited was named Young Logistics Professional of the Year, with judges praising her ‘amazing progress in a relatively short period of time’.
Additional honours went to CNS Ltd (Customs Technology Company of the Year) and Associated British Ports (Multimodal Exhibitor of the Year).

From DP World’s pioneering sustainability initiatives to Howard Tenens Logistics’ operational excellence and the innovative partnerships like Sky and DHL, we’re seeing logistics companies not just adapt to change, but lead it. These awards celebrate organisations that are building the future of supply chains – more sustainable, more inclusive, and more technologically advanced than ever before.”
