PUSTERLA 1880 UK has announced it has achieved EcoVadis Platinum status – the organisation’s highest recognition for sustainability performance.

The rating means that the luxury packaging specialist is among the top 1% of over 150,000 companies that EcoVadis has assessed worldwide.

Graeme Riddell, commercial director at Pusterla 1880 UK, said, “This is a tremendous achievement which underlines how sustainability is ingrained into everything we do, from how we run the business to the solutions we devise for our customers. It is also a tribute to everyone who works within Pusterla and their dedication to continuous improvement in all areas of sustainability.”

EcoVadis rates a company’s sustainability performance based on four key criteria: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Pusterla said initiatives that that have helped the business maintain its Platinum status include carrying out detailed life cycle analyses and following the packaging ethics charter in all new pack developments; a commitment to material reduction and the sourcing of more sustainable materials; and investment in more efficient production machinery. Later this year the company will be introducing a sustainable procurement programme.
