Faller Packaging to produce folding cartons at second Denmark site

FALLER Packaging has announced it start producing folding cartons at its new site in Horsens, Denmark later this summer.

The plant will complement the firm’s existing facility in Hvidovre, Denmark, and is a response to growing demand for pharmaceutical packaging. The plan is to increase total capacity in Denmark to around 900 million units per year. In Horsens alone, the packaging manufacturer plans to produce up to 600 million folding cartons annually.

The decision to open a second production site is part of the growth strategy for the folding carton division of the Faller Packaging Group. The business had already taken over a 5,700 square metre building complex in Horsens in 2023 and modernised it.

“The new factory is lean and combines efficiency and quality. This not only allows us to significantly increase capacity, but also strengthens our customer service on site,” said MD Christian Holmskov.

One advantage of the new plant is that the full-format printing presses are said to enable a much higher output per sheet than the half-format technology previously used.

Faller Packaging will produce exclusively in Horsens, while the administrative processes will remain in Hvidovre.

The second production site in Denmark is also tipped to offer advantages for local pharmaceutical manufacturers and global players in the region, including shorter delivery times and greater flexibility in logistics.
