MONDI has announced the acquisition of the western Europe assets of Schumacher Packaging.
For existing Mondi customers, the ‘expanded product range and enhanced production flexibility’ is said to support demand for sustainable packaging solutions. Customers joining from Schumacher Packaging, meanwhile, gain access to Mondi’s product portfolio and services.
The acquired sites include two mega box plants in Ebersdorf and Greven in Germany. By adding solid board solutions to the portfolio, Mondi revealed it provides e-commerce and FMCG customers with sustainable packaging that ‘protects products while optimising logistics’.
“This acquisition significantly strengthens our corrugated packaging business, extending our footprint in western Europe and offering strong vertical integration opportunities,” said Andrew King, Mondi Group CEO. “We are delighted to welcome our new Schumacher Packaging colleagues to Mondi.
“Together we will expand our e-commerce and FMCG offering, particularly in western Europe, presenting exciting opportunities to introduce the group’s unique range of products to a wider array of customers as they increasingly transition towards more sustainable packaging solutions.”
