PACKAGING Innovations & Empack has chosen the RePapaPac bag, made by EP Group, as its official visitor bag for the 2025 event, which returns to the NEC Birmingham from February 12-13.
The RePapaPac bag, crafted from biodegradable paper, is manufactured in the UK and is said to deliver on both durability and strength, with a low carbon footprint. Even with its lightweight nature, the bag can hold up to 20kg and testing has proven its durability for up to 50 uses. At the end of its lifecycle, every bag is fully recyclable through standard kerbside recycling.
Since its launch, the award-winning bag has gained traction within the UK retail market, with notable partnerships including Marks & Spencer and Morrisons.
EP Group has also been named as the official VIP Lounge sponsor at the upcoming exhibition. The business will host a daily competition, with participants invited to challenge themselves to hold a RePapaPac bag filled with household items at arm’s length for as long as possible. The contest is designed to test the endurance of participants while demonstrating the durability and strength of bags. The person who boasts the longest hold time will win a weekend break to London with West End theatre tickets for two.
Si McMahon, head of marketing and R&D for EP Group, said, “Seeing an event of this scale prioritise sustainability and fibre-based materials sets a powerful example for the wider industry. We’re excited to host a fun competition in the VIP Lounge to bring the industry together to celebrate this important step towards a greener future. We look forward to welcoming all visitors to the event in February.”
