GLASS packaging manufacturer Beatson Clark has revealed plans to showcase its range of bottles at next month’s BeerX event at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre.
BeerX is a two-day beer and brewing trade event organised by the Society for Independent Brewers.
Alongside the trade show, breweries that have been named winners in their region will compete to be crowned national champion in a range of categories. As sponsors of the British Ales category for bottles, Beatson Clark will present this award to the winning brewery at the show.
The company’s brewing customers range from smaller craft brands that want standard bottles available from stock to larger outlets looking for fully bespoke bottles from 500,000 units.
If budgets don’t allow for a completely new bespoke design, Beatson Clark can customise standard bottles to reflect a beer’s branding and image. Embossing can be added to standard bottles on production runs as low as 150,000 units.
Charlotte Pike, marketing manager at Beatson Clark, said, “As silver sponsors of SIBA we have been attending BeerX for a number of years and as usual we’re really looking forward to it. This year we will also be telling brewers about our new spray decorating service. We can achieve an array of visual and tactile finishes and effects, and we can also apply a UV coating to white flint bottles to provide protection against light strike.”
This protection is already offered by Beatson Clark’s dark amber bottles, which are said to be popular among breweries as they provide over 90% protection from UV rays.
“Glass remains the most healthy and sustainable material to package your beer,” Charlotte Pike added. “In addition to the high recycled content and recyclability of glass, it is also completely inert. This means that glass is the only mainstream packaging for beer that does not require a resin or plastic liner.”
