THERMOFORMED moulded pulp packaging specialist Rottneros Packaging AB will launch its NATURE range of sustainable food packaging trays at Packaging Innovations & Empack 2025.
The trays are crafted using FSC-certified raw materials and produced with 100% renewable energy. The products incorporate barrier properties designed to extend the shelf-life of food, while reducing plastic content to below 10%.
The trays are said to be fully recyclable in paper streams, in line with CEPI and 4EverGreen protocols, and feature bio-based inner liners that can be separated and composted.
Alessandra Zanetti, sales & business development manager at Rottneros Packaging AB, said, “We are committed to reducing food waste by producing trays with advanced barrier properties that optimise shelf-life. Sustainability is at the core of our mission, which is why our trays are primarily made from fibre sourced from sustainably managed forests.
“To further our commitment to the planet, we design our trays with minimal plastic content, ensuring they are recyclable at paper curbside collections with non-wood content below 10%. As an alternative, the biobased inner liners can also be separated and collected in the compost.|
The trays are compatible with Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) and Vacuum Skin Packaging (VSP). Customisable lining options, including microwavable and oven-proof solutions, are available.
The NATURE trays are designed for integration into existing production lines, with both standard and tailor-made sizes available.
Packaging Innovations & Empack takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from February 12-13.
