DS Smith helps create fibre-based e-commerce packs for juice bottles

V. Rοubis and DS Smith packaging collaboration

DS Smith has teamed up with drinks company V. Rοubis, the creator of bfresh spitiko, to develop e-commerce packaging for three sets of juice products produced in glass bottles.

The fibre-based solution replaces traditional wooden trays that have been used to hold the juice-filled bottles and protect them during transportation with the use of materials such as polystyrene foam or air cushions.

The new packaging is comprised of fibre-based corrugated cardboard with a ‘robust and compact’ casing and a ‘luxurious’ look and feel. DS Smith added that the solution also utilises as few materials as possible to increase the number of casements that can be packed and transported.

The corrugated cardboard casing includes a QR code that links to bfresh spitiko’s e-commerce platforms online, and a graphic design that is ‘bold and eye-catching’ for consumers to easily identify with.

Vasilis Roubis, CEO and founder, bfresh spitiko, said, “We have loved the whole process of working with DS Smith to develop this new sustainable packaging solution for these popular ecommerce products, and we are proud to have shared in this expertise. We want to ensure that our packaging is of the best quality possible, and our customers expect us to meet these high standards too.”

George Filippoglou, cluster MD, packaging division, DS Smith, added, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with V. Rοubis and bfresh spitiko on this innovative packaging solution. Our fibre-based corrugated cardboard alternative has transformed the product casing, making it not only more compact and sustainable, but also easier to transport. It’s a fantastic result, and customers can instantly recognise these products with a sense of quality and sustainability.”
