Berry outlines plans to make circularity centre stage at Packaging Innovations

Berry Global solutions

THE Berry Global stand at Packaging Innovations and Empack 2025 will showcase a variety of rigid and flexible plastic packaging solutions.

Samples on display at the NEC, Birmingham next month will cover a range of end-markets including food and beverage, beauty and personal care, surface coatings, homecare, horticulture, and agriculture.

The business will highlight its proprietary, closed-loop CleanStream technology – described as the UK’s first domestically recovered, mechanically recycled polypropylene (PP) for contact-sensitive, homecare, and industrial applications.

New to Berry’s range of beauty and personal care products is the introduction of additional smaller sizes – 15ml, 20ml and 25ml – into its Exclusive Stick and Refill range.

For food and non-food products, the company will also demonstrate its range of containers featuring initiatives such as lightweighting, the use of recycled plastic, and the inclusion of ‘robust’ plastic handles to replace metal versions, which provides a mono-material pack solution for easier recycling.

Berry’s range of reusable cups for hot and cold beverages represent another development. They are dishwasher safe with a construction that is said to combine a ‘premium quality feel and high-impact branding opportunities’. The cups are lightweight and can be recycled when they reach their end of life.

A further innovation for the drinks sector is the Secure Slip 26mm sports cap with patented coloured non-detachable tamper-evident band, designed to enable users to confirm the product has not been previously opened.

Berry’s flexibles division will showcase its selection of films for food and beverage applications. The Omni Xtra+ polyethylene cling film for fresh foods provides an alternative to traditional hard-to-recycle PVC cling films. For bags, pouches, stand-up pouches, and flow wraps, Berry’s Entour mono-material lamination films and laminated pouches offer recyclable alternatives to traditional multi-material PET/PE and OPET/PE laminate films.

Among its range of tertiary stretch films for pallet protection, Berry will be launching a new version of its Bontite stretch film containing 30% PCR content in the form of the firm’s Sustane recycled content. The film aims to help companies meet sustainability commitments and latest packaging regulations, while ensuring effective pallet protection and load stability.

Berry’s flexibles division will also be showing its portfolio of FFS (form-fill-seal) and single wound sheeting solutions for industrial and food applications.
