BERRY Global has launched a multi-purpose sip lid to complement the company’s Reusable Cup range and meet demands for alternatives to single-use plastics.
Part of the firm’s B Circular Range of standard packaging solutions, the lid has been developed to enhance the functionality of the cups for both hot and cold drinks and is described as being ‘engineered for flexibility’.
It is produced to the Ø89 standard market dimension, making it compatible with all Berry hot and cold cups. The lid is said to be leak-proof with a liquid tight fit, and allows users to enjoy drinks with or without a straw.
Crafted from ‘widely recyclable’ polypropylene (PP), Berry added that the lid is stackable and dishwasher-safe. It also offers the option for logo embossing with a matte versus shiny surface contrast. Like the cups, the sip lid is designed for repeated use and reclosure.
The lid is available in a variety of standard colours. For black lids, Berry offers a Near-Infrared (NIR) detectable black colourant, enabling efficient sorting of black cups and packaging for recycling in countries with the appropriate recycling infrastructure.
