ABG to double footprint of German manufacturing site

Work starts on ABG's new facility in Baesweiler, Germany

FINISHING equipment specialist A B Graphic International (ABG) has announced an expansion of its manufacturing base in Baesweiler, Germany.

The site currently spans 2,300m². The expansion will nearly double the footprint to 4,400m² with the addition of a custom-built facility.

The Baesweiler site produces products such as slitter rewinders (SRI3), booklet machines, FleyeVision camera inspection systems, and specialist rewinders. The new facility will consolidate the current warehouse, workshop and paint booth, allowing the existing space to be repurposed as a specialist demonstration centre and streamlined production zones.

ABG explained the expansion will enable shorter production times and accommodate larger schedules.

“Our Baesweiler facility has been integral to our operations and customer satisfaction,” said Matt Burton, ABG’s global sales director. “This expansion underlines our dedication to the German market and our long-term strategy to invest in areas where demand for our products is strongest.”

Ralf Wirtz, ABG GmbH’s MD, added, “As well as operational growth, this new development will create skilled job opportunities for the local community, whilst also offering career development for our existing workforce, aligning with ABG’s vision of combining business growth with meaningful contributions to the local economy.”
