CARTON manufacturer Falconer has increased capacity with the opening of a second manufacturing facility.
Located a short distance from Falconer’s existing site in West Yorkshire, the expansion is said to represent a ‘major milestone’ in the company’s growth. The new 15,000 sq ft facility was selected after three years of planning and searching.
The site consolidates functions including warehousing, packaging, and distribution. It features existing and newly added gluing machines, a window patching line and additional storage for samples and stock. With a Crown forklift enhancing logistics, Falconer said the facility is equipped to ensure ‘seamless’ operations from production to dispatch.
The facility includes upgraded cloakrooms and break areas, reflecting Falconer’s commitment to its workforce. For customers, the site is said to bring expanded capacity, improved efficiency, and the potential for quicker lead times. By housing warehousing and distribution in-house, Falconer can now hold stock, offering ‘greater flexibility and responsiveness’ to client needs.
The investment is part of a larger growth strategy. The next phase begins in early 2025 with the addition of a Heidelberg XL75 press.
“This expansion is not just about growing our business but also about enhancing the Falconer experience for our employees and customers alike,” said MD Richard Martin. “We’re excited to welcome customers to see the new site and its benefits to our operations.”
Falconer manufactures decorative printed folding cartons for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, drinks and spirits, giftware, healthcare, veterinary, petcare and luxury confectionery sectors.
