ANTALIS Packaging has expanded its range of single-use plastic alternatives with two new products aimed at e-commerce and logistics businesses.
Paper strapping is described as a 100% recyclable and biodegradable replacement for traditional plastic strapping. It has a breaking strain of 70kg and, according to Antalis, safer to handle than traditional plastic or metal strapping. The solution is compatible with traditional strapping machines.
Meanwhile, the new paper-based documents enclosed wallets are said to be ‘secure, waterproof and cost-effective’. With a self-adhesive backing, they are designed to be quick and easy to apply. Unlike traditional plastic wallets, paper-based document enclosed wallets can be recycled along with the carton, without the need to separate them first. They are available in plain or printed options and in A4, A5 and A6 sizes.
Amy Skingsley, packaging product manager at Antalis, said, “While plastic still has an important role to play in certain types of packaging, reducing reliance on single-use plastics where possible is an important criterion when we are exploring new products to add to our range. Paper strapping and documents enclosed wallets are great innovations that we’re excited to be able to offer our customers.”
