SHARPAK has launched CPAK Jazz, a new sustainable packaging solution described as a recyclable, ovenable CPET tray aimed at the ready-meal market.
The product features over 70% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, all of which is sourced from the UK.
Sharpak said one of the standout features of CPAK Jazz is its use of recycled jazz plastic, which historically is difficult to reuse due to its colour variations. Sharpak’s UK-sourced jazz undergoes a ‘rigorous’ cleaning process before being blended with a masterbatch to ensure colour consistency. This reduces reliance on virgin materials and gives new life to a material that is difficult to recycle. It also helps stimulate demand for jazz plastic in the recycling market.
“We are immensely proud to introduce CPAK Jazz, a true milestone in our journey towards more sustainable packaging solutions,” said Tim Roberts, sales director of Sharpak’s Bridgewater facility. “By utilising entirely UK-sourced recycled materials, CPAK Jazz not only supports local recycling efforts but also helps to close the loop on difficult-to-recycle materials like jazz plastic.
“This product represents our vision of a more sustainable future, where innovation and responsibility go hand in hand. We will continue to challenge ourselves and the industry to achieve outstanding results, for both our customers and the environment.”
