AMCOR’S Winterbourne site has achieved ISCC+ certification, aligned with the packaging specialist’s pledge to develop all of its products to be recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025.
This brings Amcor’s total number of ISCC+ certified sites to 27, with the firm also committed to significantly increasing its use of recycled content.
ISCC+ is an internationally recognised framework that makes it easier to use recycled and bio-based content, and to verify associated claims. Amcor Flexibles’ Winterbourne site primarily produces packaging for the healthcare sector. Certified packaging solutions available from the site include SureForm thermoforming films for medical devices, AmSky recycle-ready pharmaceutical blister packs, and packaging using Dupont Tyvek material.
“This certification reaffirms our commitment to increasing the use of bio-based and recycled content in our production,” said Virginie Maes, VP global flexibles healthcare for Amcor. “The ISCC+ certification enables us to support our healthcare customers to strengthen their sustainability claims and increase the use of circular content in their packaging.”
