DAVID Williams has been appointed CEO of the new handling division in the UK for Emmepi Group.

Italy-based Emmepi Group recently announced the acquisition of Avanti Conveyors. David Williams, with experience spanning 35 years in the corrugated machinery industry, is joining the business to work with the existing management team of Simon Mander and Danos Damianou to fully integrate the team and products of the former Avanti Conveyors company into the Emmepi Group.

David will combine his time in the newly appointed CEO role with his position as MD of GTS Europe.

“Joining Emmepi Group in this new handling division is more than a new role; it’s a journey I’m keen to embark on, driving growth and innovation,” said David Williams. “This partnership makes the group greater than the sum of its parts. It’s a natural progression for both businesses and allows us to take overall responsibility for the flow of production at customer sites.

“The demand for automation in the corrugated industry right now is at an all time high and means that we are well placed to deliver what our customers are requesting.”

Alessandro Bersanetti, president, Emmepi Group, added, “Alberto Fioriti, CEO, Emmepi Group and I felt that David’s extensive corrugated industry background and business development skills should help us strengthen partnerships, develop strategic alliances and expand our international sales presence. He has exceptional strategic capabilities, proven operational effectiveness, and a great reputation in the industry.”

Simon Mander, MD of the new handling division, commented, “In response to our customers requesting long-term support agreements and a broader scope of supply, we feel that this is the best path. We are excited to be a part of the Emmepi Group and can now offer complete site automation to our customers.

“Danos Damianou, our software director, and I, as managing director, are continuing in our roles and look forward to working with David and the Emmepi Group now and into the future.”
