PACKAGING components specialist Item Products has been acquired by Jack Cook, the son of current MD Julian Cook, and his business partner, Ciaran Glover.
The acquisition has been described as marking the start of a new phase of leadership and innovation for the business.
Julian Cook and sales director David Holt have opted to hand over their responsibilities to the next generation, thereby securing the continuation of the company’s 38-year history. The transition comes at a time when both Julian and David are preparing for retirement, though Item Products revealed they will remain closely connected to the business, offering guidance and support during a phased handover period.
New co-owner Jack Cook brings his experience as a chartered accountant, with a track record of managing finance teams in ‘high-growth’ private-equity-backed environments. He was recently group financial controller for a supply chain and logistics consultancy.
Fellow co-owner Ciaran Glover has a background in marketing and product innovation, with experience in the FMCG sector, including over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and food brands. Item Products said his ‘creative energy and strategic vision’ are set to drive a new wave of innovation and growth for the firm.
