KONICA Minolta Business Solutions (UK) has supplied labels specialist Soabar with an AccurioLabel 230 press.
The solution replaces two previous AccurioLabel 190 presses and is described as offering ‘full flexibility’ to cater for different types and sizes of jobs with a quick turnaround time.
Working in tandem with Soabar’s inkjet and flexo solutions, it is well placed to handle short-run and quick turnaround jobs, freeing up the company’s inkjet press for longer run work.
Soabar’s relationship with Konica Minolta Business Solutions was cemented through the utilisation of two AccurioLabel 190 digital label presses at its site in Leicester. The arrival of digital print had already helped the company to grow its business, but there was a requirement to accommodate an additional inkjet press within the limited space available.
Phil Achurch, MD of Soabar, said, “Based upon our previous experiences of working with Konica Minolta we would happily have sourced our inkjet labels solution from them too had one been available. However, we were still adamant that we wanted to upgrade our digital solution through the company to replace the excellent AccurioLabel 190s.
“With its increased speed and enhanced flexibility in terms of substrates and applications, a single AccurioLabel 230 has perfectly replaced the previous pair of presses without any compromises on performance or output levels. This is all delivered in a smaller physical footprint, which has obvious advantages in a production facility with finite space available.”
The AccurioLabel 230 is said to ensure samples are ‘quick and efficient’ to supply to customers, and the ability to use variable data processing has proven to be a particularly valuable feature, delivering versatility without unnecessarily slowing the process down.
The company is primarily using the press for chemicals and food labelling applications.
Soabar production director Robert Gallagher stated, “The AccurioLabel 230 serves us very well and has opened new revenue streams for Soabar. It is a proven technology that has been adapted to narrow-web and delivers impressive speed, as well as an attractive price point, and value for money.”
Andrew Lamb, production print specialist at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), added, “As Soabar builds upon its Konica Minolta digital label press platform investment with the recent addition of an inkjet investment, it clearly demonstrates that no one technology delivers everything, and that by having the right combination of toner and inkjet technologies under one roof, along with the excellent support, enables the right job to be printed on the right press to meet the demands of the business and its customers.”
