SEE has announced plans to bring automation to Empack this year.
The packaging manufacturer’s AUTOBAG brand range of solutions will take centre stage on its stand, including its latest innovation, AUTOBAG brand AB850SP. The compact system is designed to run all-paper, recycle-ready bags and incorporates high resolution printing of shipping labels directly onto the bags.
SEE explained that AUTOBAG brand AB850SP can open, label, and seal up to eight bags per minute, using high-quality seals. Bags are 100% kerbside recyclable, subject to the availability of appropriate local recycling facilities.
Empack visitors will also be able to learn about how to overcome labour availability and productivity challenges. A range of print and pack solutions including AUTOBAG brand AB500 and AL500 are intended to streamline integration by combining automatic, high-speed bagging and printing to reduce manual touchpoints and maximise system uptime.
Duncan Hall, UKI APS commercial director at SEE, said, “We’re seeing trends across the UK and Europe of operators prioritising innovations that enhance packaging throughput. Businesses are striving to quickly process high volumes of products, without compromising quality. Operators also want to achieve these goals while carefully managing warehousing space and costs, and overcoming challenges such as labour scarcity.
“With these trends in mind, ‘Automate Your Packaging’ is the key theme of our Empack stand. We’ll be focusing on a range of automated packaging solutions that are compact, quick to set-up and easy to integrate into production and fulfilment lines, and which are all designed to deliver high performance at high speeds.”
SEE will also be showcasing its AUTOBAG brand PS 125 OnestepÔ – a tabletop bagging machine with integrated printer. The all-electric system requires no compressed air and features an ‘operator-friendly’ control screen for ‘quick and easy’ configuration and storage of bagging jobs.
Completing the line-up of automated packaging solutions will be the Comcount BFW counting/weighing Machine. This is compatible with AUTOBAG brand bagging systems and is described as a unique combination of a bowl feed counter and automatic weighing machine. It has the capabilities to detect the dimensions of small products, to accurately bag up to 2,000 packs per hour.
Duncan Hall added, “Empack is all about providing a platform for the most advanced packaging innovations and capabilities. It is an ideal event for showcasing the multiple benefits of packaging automation, which are sure to appeal to visitors from a variety of different sectors.”
