Dantex adds ‘eco-friendly’ technology to PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses

DANTEX Group has been working with inks and coatings specialist, ACTEGA, to integrate ECOLEAF technology into its PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses.

With ECOLEAF described as providing an eco-friendly alternative to hot and cold foiling, Dantex said the move highlights its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Designed for a variety of markets, ECOLEAF is a digital solution enabling metallisation embellishments onto self-adhesive labels. Dantex explained that while traditional foiling methods typically result in 80-90% waste of foil, ECOLEAF utilises a glue trigger layer shaped like the intended image, to reduce waste.

This process jets aluminium particles, adhering them to the glue layer to create a metallic image. This approach also allows for the creation of multiple metallic colours.

Ben Danon, CEO of Dantex Group, said, “We are excited to introduce this eco-friendly technology to our PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses, and we believe that this partnership will help us to achieve our sustainability goals while providing our customers with highly innovative and visually impactful solutions. Both parties strongly emphasise the environmental and sustainability benefits of this collaboration.”
