KINGSMOOR Packaging has announced the company’s recent collaboration with Mypower has resulted in an ‘extensive’ PV solar panel investment for its Somerton manufacturing facility.

The system forms part of the thermoformed packaging specialist’s commitment to sustainability, with the company aiming to achieve 50% of its annual energy consumption from on-site renewable sources by the end of this year.

With the integration of technologies such as a free air chiller system and smart compressor systems, Kingsmoor added that it has taken ‘substantial strides’ to reduce its carbon footprint during the manufacturing process.

By harnessing the power of solar energy, the company will ‘significantly’ contribute to the production of its own energy needs.
