WAITROSE is launching an exclusive new collection of products in bespoke packaging to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.
The retailer said that the its Coronation limited-edition products mark a ‘joyful’ moment in British history.
It sees a number of customer favourites be given the ‘royal treatment’ with the launch of commemorative Coronation limited-editions. This includes Waitrose’s Scottish shortbread, which will be sold in a tin bearing the date of the King’s Coronation.
A bespoke Coronation tea caddy filled with 50 English breakfast teabags is also being launched, whilst a Coronation bottle of Silent Pool Gin will also hit the shelves.
Emma Beale, head of product innovation at Waitrose, said, “With Coronation themed recipes increasing on Waitrose.com, we know our customers are already feeling the excitement. Whether neighbours unite to toast His Majesty King Charles III and The Queen Consort or people use the extra bank holiday to catch up with loved ones, our limited edition range has everything to create a sense of occasion.”
The supermarket is also launching a Jewel the Jack Russell Cake, which will see £1 of each sale donated to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. A new Coronation preserve will be unveiled, alongside scones, wine, and a flower bouquet.
Emma continued, “We’ve experimented with and elevated some great British classics using locally sourced ingredients. From Jewel the Jack Russell Cake through to crown-embossed Duchy Shortbread that makes the perfect gift, our selection will make celebrations tasty, affordable and memorable.”
