Scottish corrugated packaging business confirms major investment plans

EAST Kilbride-based corrugated packaging specialist Boxshop, a member of the Logson Group, has announced it has embarked on a major investment programme to ‘transform’ its operational capabilities by spring 2023.

The investment in High Quality Post-Print (HQPP) technology will support both new and existing customers, with the firm particularly targeting the food and drink sectors, e-commerce, and others with a requirement for corrugated boxes with ‘exceptional’ print quality.

The core investment is a Bobst Expertflex six-colour printer, which Boxshop said will deliver ‘best in class’ print capabilities. This machine is said to mirror existing print capability within the Logson Group, offering customers the confidence that quality and capability can be replicated on a ‘multi-site’ basis.

Other elements of the project include the creation of a new 20,000 sq ft designated case making facility, and the reconfiguration of existing die cutting and multi point gluing machinery to improve operational efficiencies.

Jennifer Riddell, MD of Boxshop, said, “This investment significantly strengthens Boxshops commitment in supporting our customers and solidifies our position as the leading independent supplier of corrugated packaging solutions in Scotland.”
