New Foodservice Packaging Zone set for Birmingham exhibition

ORGANISERS of February’s Packaging Innovations & Empack Birmingham event have confirmed the show will feature a dedicated Foodservice Packaging Zone.

The development has been coordinated through a new partnership between show organisers Easyfairs and the Foodservice Packaging Association (FPA).

FPA executive director, Martin Kersh, said, “Packaging Innovations is a show I have attended since joining the FPA. The relationship further developed as I became involved with panel discussions and co-chairing The Big Debate with Jane Bevis of OPRL. FPA has chosen to partner with Easyfairs Packaging Innovations because it is well-respected by many key industry players, including FPA and non-FPA members, but also because Packaging Innovations is 100% dedicated to packaging. It is our number one show.

“This partnership would have happened much sooner had it not been for the pandemic. However, I am delighted that we will see the first of many foodservice packaging zones at the forthcoming event. I must add that it’s thanks to our members like Huhtamaki and Colpac for choosing to exhibit with us and the really strong team at Easyfairs who ensure that the Packaging Innovations shows are always such a great success.

“This collaboration is a natural fit for FPA, and I look forward to our members’ continued presence at the show.”

Josh Brooks, marketing and community director, packaging at Easyfairs, added, “Packaging Innovations & Empack, featuring Contract Pack & Fulfilment, is the premier show to kick start the new year for the food and beverage, foodservice, FMCG, beauty and personal care, and pharmaceutical industries. We are delighted to partner with the FPA in providing a dedicated Foodservice Packaging Zone, bringing together its members to showcase the best of the foodservice sector.

“Visitors can look forward to value-packed, foodservice-focused sessions during the content programme that will be produced in collaboration with the FPA. These will feature key foodservice brands and trends, forming part of a wider content programme covering the latest thinking in packaging design and innovation for the food, drinks and FMCG markets.

“The exhibiting FPA members are true industry experts, and I strongly encourage brand owners, operators, and members of the hospitality sector to take full advantage of the vast expertise that will be available under one roof.”

Packaging Innovations & Empack will take place on February 15 and 16, 2023 at the NEC Birmingham.
