PACE to launch new pallet protection system at PPMA

PACE Mechanical Handling has announced it will launch a new protection system for palletised products at this year’s PPMA Total Show after entering into a partnership with a Spanish bagging, palletising and wrapping machinery manufacturers.

The exhibition later this month will be PACE’s first event since June, when it signed an agreement to represent TMI sl in the UK and Ireland.

TMI sl offers a range of end-of-line machines, which PACE explained are are used by some of the world’s largest manufacturing companies in 25 countries.

At the Birmingham show, PACE will demonstrate TMI’s latest innovation – ILERBOX. The automatic wrapping system places a protective layer of corrugated cardboard around the pallet, which is then stretch-wrapped to protect the product in transit and storage.

PACE revealed that as well as protecting the palletised products, ILERBOX also removes the need for human intervention and ‘costly’ pallet boxes.

“The ILERBOX system from TMI is unlike anything else available in the UK,” said Nick Cesare, MD at PACE Mechanical Handling. “We are very much looking forward to talking to PPMA Show about it and our own range of robotic palletising and mechanical handling solutions.”

As well as selling TMI’s solutions, Nick and his team will provide a complete after-sales support package, including installation, servicing and engineer support.

“We have been designing, installing and servicing automated packing solutions since 1996 and have worked with a wide range of companies across agriculture and food production through to aggregates, chemicals and animal feed manufacturers, amongst others,” he added. “All of our current customers are very successful small to medium enterprises, whereas TMI works with global brands.

“Being able to offer TMI’s machines alongside our range of robotic solutions puts us in a completely new league, and we’re really looking forward to seeing where this new relationship takes us.”

PACE Mechanical Handling, which is based near Spalding in Lincolnshire, specialises in designing and integrating robotic handling solutions. Thanks to its long-standing partnership with Motoman of Japan, the business offers a wide variety of robots, from pick and place to specialist heavy lifting models.
