Luxury presentation box leaves a legacy for ‘special whiskies’

PUSTERLA Pollards has revealed details of a luxury presentation box it has created for the new Legacy Collection from Scotch whisky producer House of Hazelwood.

The collection comprises four aged Scotch whiskies – 33, 39, 43 and 46 years – which have been selected to showcase flavour profiles, ghost distilleries and seminal moments in the history of Scotch whisky production.

Key packaging requirements included conveying the premium quality of the whiskies and maximising on-shelf impact and appeal, in particular to showcase the ‘distinctive’ bottle, Pusterla explained.

The sloped design enables the bottle to ‘stand proud’ when on display. This shape is also said to complement the wooden packaging used for the older whiskies in the House of Hazelwood range. Specialist paper was selected to create a stone-like finish for the pack with fluted foil that is colour-matched to the metal features on the bottle.

The box lid slots over the base to provide ‘full protection’ for the bottle during transit, Pusterla addedm while hand crafting is said to ensure the required high level of precision to deliver an exact fit and ‘high-quality finish’.

The box is produced in 100% recycled board, while the paper is said to incorporate 40% post-consumer waste and 15% fibres recovered from the cotton textile manufacturing process.

Jonathan Gibson, marketing director at House of Hazelwood, said, “Pusterla Pollards’ strong reputation within the drinks industry for outstanding quality made them the obvious choice for this exciting launch. The team provided an exceptional level of service throughout – delivering a beautifully hand-crafted presentation box within challenging timescales.

“We have been delighted at the quality of their work and their attention to detail in creating a special pack for these special whiskies.”
