GLASS packaging specialist Croxsons is marking its 150th anniversary this year by planting 150,000 trees.
The project is one of a number of environmental initiatives, which includes committing to achieve carbon net zero as part of the company’s carbon reduction strategy.
The funding of 150,000 new trees has been done through Bristol-based environmental services company, Ecologi. Croxsons currently sits in the top 40 of Ecologi’s tree planting leaderboard for businesses.
The company has committed to reducing and offsetting the balance of its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from this year, and are in the process of working towards targets for Scope 3 emissions.
CEO Tim Croxson said, “Alongside our continued and considerable pledge to charitable endeavours, which has seen us fund the building of classrooms in Malawi, our commitment to playing our part in addressing the challenges around climate change, both at home and further afield, test both ourselves and the wider industry.
“We can’t do everything, but we must do something, and these activities are exactly that. We look forward to working with stakeholders, our supply chain and customers, so we can all play our part.”
