Flexible systems are in the bag for YPS

YORKSHIRE Packaging Systems (YPS) has divulged details of its various e-commerce packaging machines, encompassing both horizontal and vertical baggers, after the firm joined forces with manufacturers such as Hugo Beck, Clearmark and Sharp.

The YPS horizontal collection includes machines that can bag products in plastic film, ones that run paper, and a number of units that can accommodate both materials interchangeably.

Integrating with existing ERP systems, YPS said the horizontal range is the ‘ideal’ solution for advanced e-commerce operations, with the machines capable of handling more than 1,200 packages per hour.

The vertical range features ‘plug and play’ electric table-top machines as well as more advanced stand-alone units. All are described as being designed to achieve gains in ‘throughput, efficiency and packing speeds’, with the Max 12 model said to be capable of bagging up to 50 packs per minute.

The adjustable design of these more compact vertical units is beneficial for warehouses with space constraints or transient, seasonal workforces.

Each bagger boasts direct on-bag, high-definition, thermal transfer printing of information, barcodes, and QR codes, negating the need for secondary labels.

E-commerce businesses often demand a branded solution to make their packs stand out in a crowded sector. YPS supplies polybags, papers and films in a variety of colours, with print-register or scatter print bespoke designs. All are recyclable and the plastic flexible choices can include recycled content in their blends.
