PACKAGING supplier Southgate Global has announced the appointment of a new service manager to run its service and repair team following a ‘continued boom’ in sales of packaging machinery.
Mark Potter joins the business with over 26 years’ experience of managing both on site and remote service centres.
Southgate provides a range of equipment from stretch and shrink wrapping to strapping and case taping machinery, as well as smaller hand-held tools and work bench kit.
Mark Potter said, “Our service and workshop team’s focus is on keeping customers up and running, regardless of whether it is a sophisticated piece of equipment or a smaller tool. In the fast-moving world of packaging and logistics, time is of the essence, especially for e-commerce customers who can’t afford to have delays caused by equipment down time.”
Southgate’s highly experienced technicians service and repair a wide range of packaging tools and equipment. As well as offering on site and remote repair, there is also a collection and delivery service if required.
Over the past year, Southgate revealed it has launched several new sustainable products and has committed to have an eco-friendly option available for every product.
Darren Smith, head of marketing, added, “Packaging machinery is one of the greatest packaging investments customers make, providing time saving for the packing process. However, it’s important that customers invest in this equipment and stay on top of servicing and maintenance to ensure there is no downtime.
“So we’re delighted to welcome Mark to the team which marks another major step in our growing portfolio of customer focused products and services. 2022 is set to be a year of innovation at Southgate as we focus on supporting our customers and meeting their packaging needs.”
