ORGANISERS of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe 2022 have announced an extension to the entry deadline for all seven award categories until Friday March 18.
The awards are open to brand owners, plastic product manufacturers, retailers, product designers, packaging producers, raw material producers, plastics recycling machine producers, and suppliers of recycled plastic products from across the whole value chain.
Winners in recent years have included the likes of Arçelik, Ampacet, Danone, Deutsche Telekom, DS Smith, EREMA, GreenMatter, Interseroh, Mondi, Philips, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt, Samsonite, and Volvo Cars.
Flor Peña Herron, senior sustainability & circular economy manager EMEA at Avery Dennison, who was named Plastics Recycling Ambassador 2021, has joined the awards judging panel for 2022.
Her fellow judges include three other previous winners of the Plastics Recycling Ambassador Award: Kim Ragaert (associate professor in circular plastics at Maastricht University); Gian de Belder (technical director, R&D packaging sustainability at Procter & Gamble); and Willemijn Peeters (CEO of Searious Business). They join Ton Emans (president of Plastics Recyclers Europe); Karen Laird (editor of Sustainable Plastics); and Rune Thoralfsson (owner and director of plastic film recycler Norfolier GreenTec AS).

Shortlisted finalists will be announced at a live online ceremony in April. Winners will be presented with their awards on the second day of the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) taking place at the RAI, Amsterdam, 22-23 June 2022. All finalists will be showcased in a dedicated display area at PRSE.
