Denny Bros has always been understandably proud of its commitment to environmental measures. Almost half of the total energy consumed in its Suffolk headquarters is now solar energy with the company posting its best-ever set of green statistics during 2020.

Despite the complications caused by the pandemic, the company prides itself on adopting a sensible and realistic commitment to energy efficiency and reducing their carbon footprint.

Graham Denny, Managing Director at Denny Bros, said: “It is great to see we are able to have a positive impact when it comes to the environment. Recently, we have focused on our waste arrangements as a further area to help reduce our carbon footprint. There are currently some fantastic, environmental initiatives available which help encourage businesses to do their bit. And, as a business we feel a great responsibility in doing all we can to help play our part when it comes to the environment.’’

Graham Denny continues, “we are a proud family-owned business who are acutely aware of our corporate social responsibility. I would like to pay particular tribute to Nick Theobald, Quality and Environmental Manager at Denny Bros, who has worked very hard to continue to enhance our sustainable efforts and find ways to reduce our carbon footprint. This has been wholeheartedly endorsed and supported by all our staff. We want to make customers feel good about working with us and also do what we can to help the local community.”

Two years ago, Denny Bros further enhanced its solar panels provision after it was awarded £20,000 from Business Energy Efficiency (BEE) Anglia, a project providing advice and finance to help businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk cut their energy costs.

All Denny Bros directors now drive low emission vehicles, either fully electric or plug-in hybrids, and the company has three charging points on site, generating about half of the electricity for these from the solar panels.

Mr Denny said the company’s overall goal was to become carbon neutral and revealed more green initiatives were being planned.
