Plastic pallet specialist ‘dispatches’ latest eco-friendly option

GOPLASTICPALLETS.COM has unveiled the firm’s latest sustainable solution to help in the task of using pallets to pick and dispatch goods and packages to fulfilment centres.

The business explained that the requirement is a ‘strong, reliable’ pallet capable of performing multiple trips – and of being recycled at the end of its lifespan.

The company has launched what it describes as a new low-cost dispatch pallet that displays green credentials right from day one. The CPP 110 PE 9F dispatch pallet is not only reusable and recyclable but actually made from recycled polyethylene (PE).

The product, manufactured by CABKA-IPS and exclusive to Goplasticpallets.com in the UK, is an upgraded version of an earlier model.

Weighing just 6kg, its low weight means it is easy to handle manually but the offset lattice on the upper deck is said to make it ‘extremely robust’, offering a load capacity of 1200kgs, which is 200kg more than its predecessor.

Measuring 1200mm (L) x 1000mm (W) x 140mm (H),  Goplasticpallets.com revealed its low profile height is comparable to that of a traditional wooden pallet but without safety issues such as nails, splinters and loose component parts.

The CPP 110 PE 9F arrives on nine feet as standard with wide fork openings for easy 4-way entry. It can also be fitted with three runners lengthways to enable it to move through automation, like roller conveyors. This means orders can be picked, packed and dispatched on the same pallet.

A further feature is that it nests, saving space in storage and transit. When empty it nests at a height of just 40mm with the possibility of stacking up to 56 pallets high. This, the company claimed, means a standard 40ft curtain side truck can hold up to 1,456 pallets in total – over 10% more than the previous model.

The plastic dispatch pallet is exempt from ISPM15 heat treatment requirements.

Goplasticpallets.com added that, once the product comes to the end of its working life, the business will collect it back for recycling.

Meanwhile, the company also recently provided insights into its mission to reduce plastic waste, having already recycled 760 tonnes of plastic that would otherwise be destined for landfill.

Goplasticpallets.com has removed the burden of responsibility from buyers by taking control of the recycling process. As well as supplying pallets manufactured from used pallets and delivering them to the buyer, at the end of the pallet’s life, the company resumes responsibility for the product, sending it to its recycling partner, where it is recycled and the process begins again.

The business has added an educational Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) section to its website, revealing the company’s processes and sustainable policies with the aim of educating purchasers into opting for ‘ethical, environmentally friendly and financially viable’ products.

MD Jim Hardisty said, “The unrivalled strength and durability of plastic is often overlooked as people are confused by messages about single-use plastics, applying them to all plastic products. This leads them to overlook the option of using plastic products sustainably with an eco-conscious focus.

“Our website now offers a wealth of detail about the process, from the manufacture of the initial pallet through to it being recycled into another pallet. We aim to have recycled 2000 tonnes of plastic pallets by 2025 and are understandably proud of our commitment as The Responsible Plastic Pallet Company. We are thrilled to be sharing some insights with both our existing and potential customers.”
