DS Smith is to continue its long-standing cardboard recycling partnership with Tesco for a further three years.

The two businesses have worked together since 1985, with various solutions being developed in that time. This includes the establishment of segregated recycling streams through to the utilisation of delivery vehicles for the backhauling of recyclables to Tesco’s own network of recycling service units.

DS Smith said that the partnership will see around 300,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard from Tesco recycled each year.

Andy Berrisford, UK MD of recycling at DS Smith, commented, “We are delighted to extend our long-term relationship with Tesco. Tesco is a valuable partner for DS Smith’s recycling business, and our wide recycling network allows us to provide them with high quality service at all times.

“I look forward to continuing working closely with Tesco to keep evolving our partnership.”
