Macfarlane Group UK awarded gold rating from EcoVadis for sustainability

MACFARLANE Group has achieved a gold rating in a sustainability survey conducted by EcoVadis.

The rating places the firm in the top 5% of companies assessed globally within its industry sector for sustainability performance.

The EcoVadis methodology is built on international sustainability standards – including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000.

The independent survey assesses suppliers from over 160 countries and across 200 business sectors focusing on corporate policies, initiatives and achievements in four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Peter Atkinson, chief executive of Macfarlane Group, said, “A gold rating from EcoVadis is an important achievement for Macfarlane Group as we continuously seek ways to support our customers’ actions to reduce the impact of their operations on the environment. Across the business we are committed to a programme of sustainable trading and this rating demonstrates to our customers the value we place on sustainability.”
