PITREAVIE Group has announced a further £1 million investment in new plant and machinery at its Cumbernauld corrugated box manufacturing facility.
The packaging specialist said the move comes just a year-and-a-half after the opening of the £3.8 million plant – Scotland’s first new sheet plant in 20 years.
The manufacturing site features an innovation centre, where customers can create new packaging solutions and take design samples home on the same day.
The latest £1 million investment in equipment includes a Bobst folder gluer and another Eterna flat bed die cutter, which will arrive this autumn. Pitreavie has invested a total £5 million into the Cumbernauld site, creating 25 new jobs already, with a further seven to be created once new equipment arrives.
Pitreavie Group MD Stephen Heslop said, “We are delighted with the progress we have made since our initial investment in late 2019, with demand from both our existing customers and new customers having surpassed our expectations.”
Manufacturing director Scott Alexander added, “I am really excited about the future and delighted to have placed the orders for the new equipment which will further enhance our overall capability.”
