DATALASE has announced the appointment of Nick Crossley as financial controller.
Crossley, a chartered accountant, has worked at all levels of company finance in a variety of sectors including retail, manufacturing, hospitality, property investment, sports merchandising and technology.
Managing a team of three, he will have responsibility for the complete finance function for DataLase, reporting monthly results to the board, preparing budgets and forecasts and ensuring that the company remains in a strong financial position.
“From the outset I’ve been really impressed with the ethos here at DataLase,” he revealed. “The company is wholly people-focused, so it has been easy to fit in and make an immediate contribution. Knowing that I was joining the company following the MBO was a perfect scenario, as it meant that my work was crucial in helping the new owners achieve their immediate and priority objectives for the business.
“Since then I’ve been involved in a number of ad-hoc projects, including making improvements to the reporting of the finance team to the board, by ensuring they have robust and timely information for decision making purposes and no surprises.”
CEO Clare Lewis added, “Nick joined us at a pivotal and exciting time for the business. His extensive financial and international experience at a senior level will be extremely valuable going forward as DataLase looks to develop and execute its long term growth strategy.”
