ORGANISERS of this year’s Interplas exhibition and conference in Birmingham have revealed that sustainability will be ‘top of the agenda’.
More than 50 sessions will explore the challenges facing the manufacturing industry and how to effect positive change.
With discussions led by industry experts, government representatives, and organisations such as Coca-Cola and Innovate UK, the free-to-attend event will provide insight into recent developments as a result of the EU Commission’s proposed strategy, implications with the prominence of net zero carbon emissions as a governmental target, and what the future for plastics will look like in the packaging, automotive, medical and construction sectors.
The CPD-certified conference will also feature representatives from industry associations on the latest policy developments, legislation and funding.
Walter Van Het Hof, chief sustainability officer at Trinseo, said, “For me, the message would be sustainability is not a nice thing to have – it’s a must-have. It’s something that is happening, and you need to be ahead of the game, but you also need it to stay in business. You have to get out of your comfort zone.”
• Interplas will take place from September 28-30 at the NEC, Birmingham.
