Corrugated manufacturer helps local charity meet Christmas challenge

CORRUGATED packaging manufacturer Durham Box is supporting local charity, Feeding Families, by donating Christmas hamper boxes and a large quantity of dump bins.

Since April, the charity has delivered over 80,000 meals across the region, covering Sunderland, Newcastle, County Durham, Northumberland, and Teesside. For this Christmas, Durham Box has provided 7,000 hamper boxes, an increase from 3,000 last year. The company also donates food and assists in packing the boxes.

“Feeding Families is facing its biggest challenge this Christmas,” said CEO Juliet Sanders. “Once again Durham Box has been hugely supportive with their supply of boxes and this year also dump bins. The pressure is now on to bring in donations from around the region. With dump bins placed in shops, businesses and schools from Berwick to Middlesbrough, we need them filled so that no family goes without this year.  If you are in the area, see if you can spot one – or pop over to our website at www.feedingfamilies.org.uk to find out where your nearest one is.”

Dan Morris, Durham Box’s MD, said, “We are delighted to be supporting our chosen charity Feeding Families again this year. For those who are struggling in food poverty across the region, this year has been particularly challenging for many families. We’re glad that we can make a difference with our donation.”
