Cullen plans to use football sponsorship to spread eco-friendly message

CULLEN has announced a two-year sponsorship deal with SPFL top flight outfit Hamilton Academical Football Club as its new front of shirt partner.

The Glasgow-based moulded pulp and corrugate packaging manufacturer said the move would allow the company to take a ‘massive stride forward’ in spreading its eco-friendly message. Having produced over one billion sustainable products to replace single-use plastic in 33 countries across the globe, Cullen revealed that it sees this sponsorship agreement as an opportunity to deliver the ‘go paper based’ message within Scotland.

Dr. Alistair Pugh, head of research & product development at Cullen said, “In a deal that will cover Cullen’s 100th year as a market leading, eco-friendly packaging manufacturer, the need to replace single-use plastic has never been more important than it is right now. We see our partnership with a community-focused club as the perfect avenue to cut through the noise, helping create a wider commitment to the sustainable packaging cause.”

Hamilton will kick off their seventh consecutive season in Scotland’s top division with an away fixture against champions Celtic on August 2.

Colin McGowan, owner of Hamilton Academical said, “I am absolutely delighted to debut this new partnership at the first game of the season. Cullen very much run with the same social values as ourselves and are very much about giving back to the community. They too strive to make a difference, and that is what we are all about.”
