New jars aim to combine beauty and sustainability

BERRY Bramlage is launching a new range of jars described as allowing cosmetic and beauty products to combine strong shelf appeal and brand image with sustainable packaging.

The Infinity Quartz range can be specified in a choice of materials, including post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, finishes and decoration options. The jars are also refillable or reusable.

Two sizes are available: 50ml and 75ml . The 50ml jar features Berry Bramlage’s Natura Pack removable inner section. This allows consumers to retain the jar and replace the empty inner with a new full one, which can be bought separately.

The jar is manufactured in PET or PP depending on the requirements of individual products. Both options have food contact certification. Caps are produced in the same material as the jars and with the removable PP inner layer, meaning the different parts can be separated for recycling.

Two special versions of the jar are also available, one where the jar is made completely from PCR PET, and a second manufactured in PP incorporating Talc. This provides a soft-touch finish.

The thick wall construction of the jars is said to ensure they still project a high-quality appearance. For the clear PET jars, the inner section appears suspended within.

Infinity Quartz jars can be produced in a variety of colours. Advanced decoration techniques such as hot stamping, silk-screen, pad and digital printing, lacquering and labelling allows them to be personalised for individual products and brands.

Delphine Roux, strategic marketing manager at Berry Bramlage said,  “At Berry, our commitment to sustainability informs the design and development of all our packaging solutions. These latest jars offer a strong sustainability profile while still delivering the enhanced consumer experience that is a vital part of beauty packaging.”
