THE rescheduled Med-Tech Innovation Expo has been postponed to 2021.
Organisers Rapid News Group said that, in light of the Covid-19 situation, the exhibition for the medical device sector will now take place from June 29-30 next year at the Birmingham NEC.
The event was originally due to take place at the beginning of April 2020. It was moved to September due to concerns over coronavirus and has now been rescheduled once more due to the unprecedented times the pandemic has caused.
Rapid News Group said the rescheduling ‘reflects the highest regard’ placed on the health, safety and wellbeing of exhibitors and visitors and also ends uncertainty regarding events due to be held in the coming months.
Duncan Wood, CEO of Rapid News Group said, “Clearly uncertainties around large gatherings and public events are still very much at the forefront of everyone’s minds. By rescheduling Med-Tech Innovation Expo to 2021 we are first and foremost ensuring the safety of our exhibitors and attendees whilst also striving to preserve the success of the event and the return on investment that our exhibitors deserve.
“We are grateful to the NEC for working alongside us to identify a dateline which we believe will work for the great majority of our exhibitors and I must also recognise the support of our key associations who have been steadfast in their support. We will continue in earnest with our preparations for the show to ensure it returns in 2021 bigger and better and with renewed vigour as the market recovers from the challenges and difficulties presented by the current climate.”
Med-Tech Innovation Expo will be co-located alongside Rapid News Group industrial events Interplas and TCT 3Sixty.
TCT 3Sixty, an event for 3D printing and additive intelligence, was originally scheduled for September 29 to October 1. It will now go ahead from June 29 to July 1, 2021.
