Food packaging firm retains AA Grade BRCGS accreditation

FOOD packaging manufacturer Colpac has announced it has again been awarded the BRCGS Packaging Materials Standard certification.

While retaining its AA grade for the fourth year running, Colpac has been awarded the latest BRCGS Packaging Materials standard – Issue 6. This only came into force in February this year and focuses on product quality.

Colpac said it achieved zero non-conformances across a two-day audit process and voluntarily opted for the ‘Traded Goods’ clause which had an equally successful outcome. This enables Colpac’s factored goods (products which are not manufactured, further processed or repacked into primary packaging on site) to sit under the BRCGS accreditation.

Compliance & QA manager Frances Dickman said, “We are thrilled to report this result, particularly as the audit was to the new BRCGS Issue 6 Standard. This outcome is attributable to the hard work and efforts of all employees across the sites and recognition is most definitely due to everyone involved.

“Looking forward, the aim is to maintain this grade to foster continuous improvement and to continue to be able to offer existing and potential customers all the necessary assurances, and demonstrable compliance with food safety management standards.”
