Manufacturer’s design competition leads to charity donation

CORRUGATED packaging specialist Rigid Containers has donated £600 raised from a staff competition to a charity that cares for the elderly and vulnerable.

Marlow House, a community day care centre based near Rigid’s HQ in Desborough, Northamptonshire, has received the funds following sales of a company advent calendar. A design competition open to children of Rigid’s employees took place across the firm’s four sites in the UK and Ireland.

Saqib Khawaja, Rigid Containers’ group financial director said, “Marlow House does a wonderful job for the local community and we are proud to be able to show our support with this donation.”

Marlow House fundraising co-ordinator Lynda Cosgrove added, “The running costs of Marlow House are a constant concern and challenge. The centre lets people keep their independence and provides a friendly space for people to relax, meet new friends and enjoy a hot meal while giving carers respite too. Thank you to Rigid’s staff for raising money that will help provide this valuable service.”
