PACKAGING machinery and automation specialist Neil Pygott has joined Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS) as a sales manager.
Neil embarked on an apprenticeship in electrical and electronic engineering at the age of 16, later becoming a maintenance engineer in the electric motor manufacturing industry before moving onto the role of service engineer within the packaging sector.
He has experience in automation, labelling, coding, weighing, conveying, feeding, sleeving, metal detection and wrapping systems. YPS said he has spent the last five years travelling the UK whilst project managing the supply of bespoke and standard packaging equipment into businesses.
Neil commented, “I’ve always loved working with machinery in a technical way and the packaging industry excites me because it’s so rewarding. It’s that feeling that I’ve contributed to the end-of-the-line stage in a product’s journey that I find motivational. I’m thrilled to be onboard at YPS and already have a number of interesting projects in the pipeline with our customers.”
