Sustainable solutions to take centre stage at Packaging Innovations 2020

ORGANISERS of Packaging Innovations 2020 have announced that a number of new products will be launched at the event in February.

With sustainability still the hottest topic in the packaging sector, environmentally friendly solutions are poised to take centre stage.

Wrapid and DuPont Tijin Films has created the Mylar rPET lidding film range for the food sector, made from up to 50% post-consumer recycled content sourced from European deposit return schemes. The product is said to reduce the carbon footprint of films by 1.4kg for every 1kg of virgin PET.

Camvac will showcase its new Cambrite Camvert, a biodegradable and compostable metallised film, which has been designed for use within the board lamination market as an alternative to metallised polyester.

Megaplast Group will unveil its Eco Fiber Film, which has been developed to include reinforcement fibres to increase tear resistance and efficiency. The material is described as utilising 30% recycled raw materials.

Innovia Films will launch its extended Propafilm Strata range. The high barrier films are certified recyclable and have been extended to include new grades.

Henry AR Alderney Race will use the exhibition to highlight the benefits of its Stakker Roll Cradles for palletisation and its moulded fibre packaging. The new developments coincide with the launch of the company’s new office in the Netherlands.

Foxpak Flexibles will present its Generation Green range of flexible packaging options. The line-up includes compostable, recyclable, and paper primary packaging solutions in a variety of designs including stand-up pouches, sachets, coffee pouches, and three side seal bag.

i2r Packaging Solutions will display its i2r Ultra, a design that uses a patent protected new style of embossing to increase stress resistance to reduce the gauge, price point, and environmental impact of the aluminium tray.

Durham Box offers digital print for the corrugated packaging market following investment in an EFI Nozomi C18000 digital press. The machine provides a range of print finishes and is said to be able to produce the same quality as flexo.

Bericap UK will launch new additions to its caps and closures range, including the DIN 60 cap which can be used across a range of blow-moulded containers.

Cambrian Packaging will display recyclable PET clear plastic bottles following the expansion of its second warehouse to accommodate the new lines. The company will also showcase trigger spray solutions and plastic packaging designs.
