Bacon brand switches to recyclable pack

BACON producer Denhay has switched its packaging to fully recyclable clear trays made from 25% recycled plastic.

The move eliminates black plastic from any retail packs of bacon. The firm said its new ‘easy-peel’ packaging is both consumer and environmentally-friendly. The packaging is designed to have a ‘fresh and contemporary look’ as Denhay’s new Wiltshire Cure Thick Cut Smoked Back Bacon hits selected stores.

MD Jim Loescher said, “We are proud of our environmental efforts and are committed to reducing the amount of black plastic we use.”
