Colpac flying high with new travel pack range

COLPAC has launched its first range of packaging solutions for the travel industry.

The firm said the Travel Packaging range has been designed to streamline on board dining, reduce handling times and maximise sustainability with fully recyclable products. The entire range is manufactured from paperboard.

Comprising up to 19 different formations, from retail to traditional in-flight food service packaging, Colpac explained that each element has been designed and sized to fit airplane trays or replace the need for trays with runners for trolley storage. The core range has been created as stock products, though the range can be customised to suit individual branding requirements.

The combination meal boxes have been developed to maximise ease of delivery and cabin crew handling, enabling hot meals to be served as one with accompanying sides and snacks. With a perforated removable area to insert hot serve meals, the boxes can be used in combination or as second serve.

The Retail Snack Boxes can be used for inflight treats. With a variety of opening options, Colpac said this assortment can form its own tray or operate as a standard snack box.

The Snac Pac, constructed with a central tear strip, is described as being ‘perfect’ for toasties and is manufactured from ovenabale, microwavable and freezable materials.

Completing the snack range is the Treats Tray, which is a full-size tray that fits onto a cabin trolley and features a divider, enabling it to be filled with a range of snacks to be purchased mid flight.

Andrew Grimbaldeston, Colpac’s commercial director said, “The new Travel Packaging range underpins our business model of developing ranges which specifically meets the needs of different industry sectors and we are confident that this will strengthen our ties to the travel market.”
