EDINBURGH-based compostable packaging specialist Vegware has introduced a new range of paper cups for cold drinks in party colours.
The Hula cups can also be used for the likes of popcorn or hot snacks to go. Available in 9, 12, 16 or 22oz, they fit Vegware’s existing range of clear PLA flat or domed lids.
Vegware explained that the vibrant colours are mixed within sleeves – tropical mango, sea green, hibiscus pink, Big Island blue and Vegware green, each with one contrasting colour leaf. The geometric pattern has been inspired by Hawaiian vegetation.
The cups are made from plants rather than plastic. Sustainably-sourced board is lined with plant-based PLA, and printed with water-based inks. Vegware said they are commercially compostable where accepted.
