PACKAGING component producer Item Products has secured an exclusive UK partnership with US company Box Latch for its reusable carton closure solution.
The Box Latch product is said to enable corrugated packaging to be reused using a closure system, rather than tape or stables. The product aims to create sustainable packaging by increasing the reuse of boxes.
The closures are available in medium or large sizes and are made from recycled plastic. Box Latch also produces corner clips to hold boxes open, allowing for quicker filling.
Julian Cook, managing director of Item Products commented, “After receiving a customer enquiry for a reusable box closure, we found Box Latch online. Having met the Box Latch owners and inventors, and seeing the product in action, we quickly felt that they were a clear match to our brand’s ethos. In line with our own product range, they offer functionality, re-usability and a clear cost saving, which is a crucial consideration in the packaging world.”
He added, “We first imported Box Latch in 2018 as the exclusive UK distributor, and since then our relationship has blossomed as we move toward production under-licence in the UK – supplying direct to the European supply chain.”
