A confectionary business that produces handmade chocolate treats has invested in a new horizontal flow wrapper from ULMA Packaging UK.
Nottingham-based Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co produces novelty gift ideas and required equipment that could cope with the growing demand for its products.
The firm has opted for a high-speed FR200 horizontal flow wrapper for creating pillow packs. ULMA said that by installing the machine, Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co has “significantly” increased output of its handmade chocolate pizzas and reduced temporary staffing requirements during the busy Christmas period.
Currently sealing film on chocolate pizzas, slices and popcorn bars at 30 items per minute, the machine, which is equipped with ULMA’s latest motion control technology, is said to have “plenty of spare capacity”.
Helen Ellis, Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co’s director and founder said, “The machine gives us exactly what we wanted – a faster process to market, protection of our products and staff savings in the run-up to Christmas this year.”
